How to install an eSIM on iPhone

Supported models: iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and newer. The phone must be carrier-unlocked.

Option A – one-tap install (iOS 17.4+)

1. Open the eSIM in the Atlayo Voice app on the iPhone itself.
2. Tap Install on this iPhone.
3. Confirm Continue and label the eSIM, e.g. "Travel".

Option B – QR code

1. Show the eSIM QR code on another device.
2. On the iPhone go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM.
3. Choose Use QR Code and scan it.

Option C – manual entry

In the app, tap Copy installation code. Then on the iPhone open Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → Enter Details Manually and paste the code. Alternatively, type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the Manual entry section.

After landing

1. Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data: pick the Atlayo eSIM.
2. Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM (that is fine, you only pay for the plan).
3. Keep your main SIM for calls and texts but switch off its data roaming.

Tip: install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi. Validity starts with the first connection at your destination.
